Tire pressure is important! And, frequently overlooked by drivers when it comes to safety….  Whether driving around Cincinnati or preparing for a long vacation drive, M&G Body Shop has your safety in mind and a bit of advice regarding your tires:

“According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), under-inflated tires are the leading cause of tire failure, which accounts for 660 fatalities and 33,000 injuries each year.” (source Measurement LTD)

Accutire and Michelin remind drivers – paricularly before a trip – to go through a three-point list to ensure road safety as well as maintaining good gas mileage:

  1. Check Tire Pressure
(Under-inflated tires can make tires wear out in an uneven manner. Know the correct tire pressure for your vehicle’s tires and adhere to it. Again, it is especially important to do so before a road trip!)
  2. Check Tire Tread Depth and Be on the Lookout for Worn Tires
  3. Stay on a Tire Rotation Schedule

There’s a lot to properly maintaining vehicles to assure optimal safety. Keeping a close eye on your tires is one way to put a checkmark on your vehicle safety checklist.
